In the short amount of time I have known him, he - MAX RIVER - at the unbelievable age of eleven - has not only demonstrated his astounding ability as an improviser, but he has also proved to be as meticulous about his craft as his adult counterparts. We allowed children to audition under the auspice that this would be a professional troupe, and Max proved to be the only person under the age of 30 who had the maturity and ability to "roll with the big guys." As an actor, Max quickly moves beyond the fundamental performance of a scene and works to bring the key emotional and narrative elements to the surface in the skilled and efficient manner that the unforgiving pace of a film shoot demands. Max contributes bold and creative decisions to his performance that tremendously enhance scenes in ways that make a director truly appreciate his unique perspective. Max makes deliberate and clear choices that enhance and enrich the script and reveal a dedication to his craft that will carry him far in future endeavors. Max River does not simply fill a role; he becomes the character. 2015 ~ Owen Smith (Director/Writer/Producer) Max is a joy to work with. So teachable, so prepared, so ready to work. He knows how to listen AND how to contribute. Today was only supposed to be a basic music rehearsal, ie, just learn the basic song, but he was waaaay ahead of that, so we ended up putting the song "on its feet" and staging it.
